1. Increase large surface area per unit mass of coal (as higher rate of combustion due to suspension firing)
2. As large surface area so less excess air is required.
3. High rate of heat release as higher combustion temperature obtained.
4. Better combustion control do system response is quick & fast with suitable load variation.
5. Subcritical & supercritical units with higher capacity possible.
6. Better ash handling system possible.
7. Gas and coal firing can possible together in a single furnace.
8. Higher combustion efficiency.
9. Less surface to volume is required for boiler design.
